in ryan's words:
My name is Ryan Leyva... I make music. I began playing guitar at the age of 8 and I never put it down. I spent countless hours in front of the radio learning every song, note, bend, hammer on, slide, strum, chord, melody to all genres of music. Music has no boundaries and neither should your scope of learning it.
I came up playing guitar in the renowned Roosevelt Jazz Band and once graduated, after a short stint at Berklee College of Music, I joined Michael Shrieve’s band, Tangletown. Cutting my teeth on world music, rock n' roll, and jazz, my ability to play expanded and allowed me tour and record with hip/hop groups, rock bands, punk bands, jazz combos, and pop stars.
At age 12 I got my first Tascam 4 track recorder. I loved it. I had no idea what buss meant and I knew if I flipped the tape over I could get some cool backwards guitar solos happening. Needless to say, I was hooked on making noise and I haven’t stopped. Only the knowledge of tools and projects have changed since my childhood discovery of capturing sound.
I now produce, engineer, mix, compose, arrange, edit, and do sound design for television, movies, bands, and projects worldwide. My goal is to make the highest quality and original audio for each individual project I work on. I would love to hear from you about your project and hope we work together soon!
